In August, I quit ABC 4 and got hired at channel 2 to produce the 7-8am show. Even though I felt like a Benedict Arnold for leaving 4, I knew it was something I had to do. BEST. DECISION. EVER. Not that I didn't love ABC 4 (the people there are awesome) but I just felt like I wasn't really progressing as a producer, and that because I started there as an intern I would kind of always have that label attached to me.
Anyway, I've been at 2 for about a month, and I love it! I'll sound like a cheeser: but most days it's just as fun to work there as it is to watch on TV. Sidenote: when I was a little kid -- we're talking three years old -- I remember waking up and my parents watching channel 2 in the morning. We'd have it on when we ate breakfast and I just got used to having Ron, Mary and Sterling be part of my morning routine.
Fast forward to August 1999. I was a 10 year old home alone watching tv. A tornado struck Salt Lake City, and I remember seeing this live.
And then in 2007, when I decided to actually be brave and pursue my dream of becoming a journalist, I harbored a secret wish to someday work at channel 2. After all, 2 was the station that I'd grown up watching. (Brittany Herdman and I used to have arguments about which was better, KSL or KUTV. We finally decided to agree to disagree and like channel 3.5).
In 2008, I went to President Hinckley's funeral and saw Ron Bird there. Can you say total dork?

Then, when I got my job at ABC 4, I put channel 2 on the back burner. I guess now, the rest is history, but I know my three year old self would be glad about what I'm doing.
In other news: Lilly and Sophie Mangelson are here! I haven't seen them as much as I would like to, but I definitely think they are adorable! Both Brittany and Josh are awesome parents. I stole this picture from Brittany's facebook, but she'll forgive me.

Then, the other big news of the summer is that my grandpa eloped in Las Vegas. Ha Ha. His new wife is actually pretty cool, and they're having fun traveling (Boise, Seattle, LA, NYC, Florida, Argentina) so I'm happy for him.
And with that, I guess I'm pretty much caught up.
